Lament Service

March 15th was one year since our last regular service, with a full house, children’s ministry, coffee and fellowship time. We marked it with a Service of Lament, to name our losses and disappointments, our pain and isolation. With various readings from the Psalms, Genesis, Lamentations and Corinthians, we voiced our laments of this past year.
But we are not without hope. Pastor Henry encouraged us in his teaching, and as we recited Q & A 1 from the Heidelberg Catechism, we were reminded that we belong to our Saviour Jesus Christ, and in Him is our hope and redemption.

February Update

Our area  moved into the orange COVID zone this week, so we were able to welcome people back to our services on February 21st..  We are still at 30% capacity, and you must pre-register to be able to attend.  The worship team was thankful to be able to lead some people again.  Pastor Henry  continued with his Back to Basics series, preaching on Jesus’ death and burial.

Cathy Ritsema led us in the prayers of the people.  We were also privileged to celebrate the Lord’s Supper again together.  Luke Devos is transitioning his mission work to ministry among South Asians in the city of Regina.  He will be moving there this week, so he gave us an update on that.

In the week following, we are installing a new sound board in the auditorium. Several small groups continue to meet via Zoom.  Brenda Stein is staying connected with all our children, as they have missed a whole season of Children’s Ministry groups.

We continue to livestream our services every Sunday at 10 am.  That is available to view each week at https://mrcc.ca/livestream/

It is not easy for many of us to soon mark one year of living with the COVID pandemic.  But we trust that God is in control, and He is always with us. Our hope is in the Lord.

Third Sunday Of Advent

Advent Begins!

New Members

We were happy to welcome Ed and Brenda Stein, as new members at the  MRCC.  Brenda has been our Children’s Ministry Director and she has done an excellent job during the challenge of COVID.  Ed and Brenda also introduced us to Shelter Canada, and led a group that built homes in El Salvador, in February.  We are thankful to have them as part of our MRCC family.
