Building Homes and Changing Lives

The Shelter Canada team returned from El Salvador on Monday, and gave our congregation a presentation on their experience on Sunday.  They were able to build 16 homes in their time there, changing the lives of 16 families.  The homes are simple steel dwellings, with one living area, and two small bedrooms. The three teams were able to meet their families, and spend time working and talking together.  On the last day, they held the Key ceremony, where new home owners are presented with the key to their sturdy, lockable, safe, clean and strong house. It was moving to see their gratitude and excitement. Team members were also thankful to be a part of the process, and most important to show God’s love to these people of El Salvador.
