Cadet Snow Derby
The MRCC Cadets (boys club) attended their annual Snow Derby in Palmerston hosted by Kitchener on January 27. Eleven churches were represented with 22 teams. We submitted three teams of boys, with 5 to 7 boys per team. There were 19 cadets, 6 counsellors and one Junior counsellor. Gems Fun Night
This week Gems girls invited their Favorite “her” to come along! It was a Gal-entines theme The auditorium was beautifully decorated, and everyone was warmly welcomed. Karen came and led the ladies in a heart wreath craft, Liz came and led us in a Valentine’s card making craft. Maradith shared a devotional about finding our worth in the way Jesus sees us. New Year Celebrations
Food, Fun and Fellowship On Sunday, January 5th, we all gathered at 9 am for a potluck breakfast at the church. The men’s group provided pancakes and sausages, to add to the great assortment of breakfast casseroles and baked goods. Thank you to all the cooks and the clean up crew. Christmas Eve
The candles were lit, the choir was ready, the coffee was on as we welcomed members and guests to our two Christmas Eve services. Tyler and Nathan provided great seasonal music in the auditorium as people entered, and Inge and a few youth were getting the coffee and hot chocolate ready in the kitchen. Youth Christmas Formal
Fun and Festive Over thirty well dressed youth and leaders gathered for their festive, Christmas formal! Everyone enjoyed a special Christmas dinner of elegant chili cheese dogs, prepared by Tyler and team. The youth band led all in a time of praise and carols. And there was some fun and laughter as they opened their White Elephant gifts! What a great night to celebrate together!
Advent Celebrations
Our Advent services have continued through the Sundays of December. Caleb and Brent, Malcolm and Alistair, and Cathy and Kenzie lit the candles of peace, joy and love. Pastor Tyler was our guest pastor on December 15th. We welcomed Lisa Harper, who accepted an MRCC donation for the Wingham Connection centre, a place for those experiencing homelessness. Christmas Parade Float
A Sweet Idea The Wingham Christmas Parade was fast approaching, and the decorating team was hard at work. Jan dreamed up a pretty sweet idea!
