Cadet Cub Car Night

The Cadet boys’ club always wrap up their season with the Cub Car Racing night. Each boy creates a cub car, which is judged on appearance and workmanship, and then is entered in the race. The boys also receive prizes based on points earned during the year. It is always an exciting, loud evening, totally enjoyed by the boys, dads, judges and leaders! Flash Mob Raking 2025

It was a rather cool and drizzly Saturday but a group of hardy workers gathered for Flash Mob Raking in Wingham! Everyone met at 8:30 for coffee and the traditional group picture, and then two teams set out. They raked 16 lawns and the lawn owners were very appreciative. GEMS Sunday

GEMS Sunday is always a special day to celebrate our GEMS girls’ program! The Youth band added to the day by leading in the songs of worship. The GEMS presented their theme song, and another favourite song with actions, and then led us through a litany on their theme. Good Friday

We gathered with the congregation from the Hutton Heights Pentecostal Church, to mark Good Friday.  Pastor Bart welcomed everyone, and Maria called us to worship.   After a couple of opening songs, she introduced us to a reading of Psalm 22.  Bill and Albert led the reading, and the choir added to the words with the song “What Wondrous Love Is This?” Pastor Jason from Hutton Heights brought us the message – It Is Finished.  He spoke of what Jesus’…

A Sunday To Celebrate

Professions of Faith and Baptisms We had a full house on a spring Sunday in April to celebrate God’s work in people’s lives! Pastor Bart welcomed everyone to this day of celebration, and the band led us in opening songs of praise. We heard wonderful, encouraging testimonies from Seth, Alyn, Charis, Mariah, Julia, Connor, William and Caleb, as they made their Professions of Faith. Gems Fun Night

The GEMS held one of their special event evenings – Favourite Him Night!  Thirty-three girls arrived with their favourite him, and a hammer! Dads, brothers, grandpas and friends arrived to tables covered in craft paper, and piles of wood for everyone. Emily and Lindsay welcomed everyone and soon the sound of hammering and sawing filled the room. They were building beautiful birdhouses! So fun! Everyone later enjoyed some delicious snacks and some good competition in Minute to Win It games.…

Cadet Sunday

On a cool Sunday in March we gathered together for Worship and to celebrate our Cadets.  Pastor Bart welcomed us, and Maria led us in opening songs of worship.  Dylan and Douglas carried the flags as they led the boys into the auditorium.   The boys took their places on the stage, and the counsellors went through their opening exercises, of the motto, verse, pledges and code.  It was great to hear Silas, Aaron, Micah, Jacob and James sharing about…

Youth Service

On Sunday March 2, we were excited to welcome our Youth group in leading the service. Alaina, Olivia, Maradith and Nathan opened the service with our Call to Worship.  Tyler, Shane, Landon, Nathan, Charis and Brielle played in the band and led us in joyful songs of praise.  Isaac did the Prayers of the people.  Pastor Tyler brought us the message, and Alaina, Landon, Maradith and William shared with us about some of their favourite parts of being in Youth…

Cadet Snow Derby

The MRCC Cadets (boys club)  attended their annual  Snow Derby in Palmerston hosted by Kitchener on January 27.  Eleven churches were represented with 22 teams. We submitted three teams of boys,  with 5 to 7 boys per team. There were 19 cadets, 6 counsellors and one Junior counsellor. The boys received a third in Compass & Maps and another third at the sling shot mystery station. They received a second place finish in Trail signs. The three Wingham teams did…

Gems Fun Night

This week Gems girls invited their Favorite “her” to come along! It was a Gal-entines theme  The auditorium was beautifully decorated, and everyone was warmly welcomed. Karen came and led the ladies in a heart wreath craft, Liz came and led us in a Valentine’s card making craft.  Maradith shared a devotional about finding our worth in the way Jesus sees us. New Year Celebrations

Food, Fun and Fellowship On Sunday, January 5th, we all gathered at 9 am for a potluck breakfast at the church.  The men’s group provided pancakes and sausages, to add to the great assortment of breakfast casseroles and baked goods. Thank you to all the cooks and the clean up crew. Christmas Eve

The candles were lit,  the choir was ready, the coffee was on as we welcomed members and guests to our two Christmas Eve services.  Tyler and Nathan provided great seasonal music in the auditorium as people entered, and Inge and a few youth were getting the coffee and hot chocolate  ready in the kitchen.
