GEMS in the Parade!
The GEMS girls are always excited to have a float in the Wingham Santa Claus parade, and this year was no exception! With the theme of gingerbread in the bakery, and shining for Jesus, the Wednesday morning coffee break ladies group set to work, designing and cutting. Tania whipped up 700 bags of cotton candy to be handed out with invitation cards to our Christmas Eve service. Josh drove the truck, the GEMS waved to the crowd, and the counsellors…
Church Camping
Church camping was a great success despite the colder weather this year. The plus – no mosquitos! Thirteen trailers/tents occupied the site, and twenty boats were in the water on Saturday morning. The kids played games, biked, and had a blast from morning to night! There was a potluck/pork roast on Saturday evening, and Josh and Steve were the corn hole tournament champions. Campfire gatherings were full of good fellowship and lots of laughs. And on Sunday morning everyone watched the…
Big Give
After hours of collecting, gathering, unboxing, re-boxing, sorting and displaying, the Big Give was ready! Saturday brought beautiful weather, and by early morning the parking lot was full of lots of treasures. And everything was free! Good stuff to be found outside and inside. A free BBQ lunch was also served. Jan and Karen and lots of volunteers were around to welcome and help all who came out to find something special. It was a great success!
Flash Mob Raking 2025
It was a rather cool and drizzly Saturday but a group of hardy workers gathered for Flash Mob Raking in Wingham! Everyone met at 8:30 for coffee and the traditional group picture, and then two teams set out. They raked 16 lawns and the lawn owners were very appreciative. Even in the rain, everyone had fun working together. Afterwards, they enjoyed a pizza lunch, and some good fellowship. Thank you to Karen for organizing the morning, and for Betty in…
New Year Celebrations
Food, Fun and Fellowship On Sunday, January 5th, we all gathered at 9 am for a potluck breakfast at the church. The men’s group provided pancakes and sausages, to add to the great assortment of breakfast casseroles and baked goods. Thank you to all the cooks and the clean up crew. At 10:30 we began our worship service. Peter led us in opening songs of worship. Pastor Bart preached on our new theme for the year “Proclaiming the Good News…
Christmas Parade Float
A Sweet Idea The Wingham Christmas Parade was fast approaching, and the decorating team was hard at work. Jan dreamed up a pretty sweet idea! It was the coffee break ladies that made all the candy themed decorations. The theme was “Jesus makes life sweet”. The theme idea came from the cotton candy we were going to hand out. Jan, Karen, William and Lindsay braved the cold on Saturday morning to put it all together. Josh drove his truck and…
