Maria VanderKlippe and Wanda Hill are the leaders of a new ministry at the MRCC – Stephen Ministries. With a vision of Christ Caring: For People: Through People, Stephen Ministers provide high-quality trained, one-to-one, confidential, Christ-centered care to those hurting or going through life challenges.
What kinds of Life Challenges do Stephen Ministers offer care for? They can offer care for all kinds of life challenges, such as those in grief or experiencing loss of any kind, those going though medical crisis, or a job related crisis, those experiencing broken relationships, or in any kind of major life transitions.
Several other members of the church have also taken the intensive training needed to be a Stephen Minister. Each one of our new Stephen Ministers answered several questions of commitment and understanding, and the congregation also promised their support and prayers for this group.
The Stephen Ministers were prayed over and all received certificates and gifts, as they begin their work of service to this community.
