Church Camping
Church camping was a great success despite the colder weather this year. The plus – no mosquitos! Thirteen trailers/tents occupied the site, and twenty boats were in the water on Saturday morning. The kids played games, biked, and had a blast from morning to night! There was a potluck/pork roast on Saturday evening, and Josh and Steve were the corn hole tournament champions. Big Give
After hours of collecting, gathering, unboxing, re-boxing, sorting and displaying, the Big Give was ready! Saturday brought beautiful weather, and by early morning the parking lot was full of lots of treasures. And everything was free! Good stuff to be found outside and inside. A free BBQ lunch was also served. Jan and Karen and lots of volunteers were around to welcome and help all who came out to find something special. It was a great success!
Pentecost Sunday
On June 8th, with the worldwide church, we celebrated Pentecost. This is the day the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, as we read in Acts 2. Maria and the worship band started our service with singing, and Tobi and Amber gave an opening prayer together. New Board
Our new board was installed in May. We welcome Albert Teeninga, Jan Blackwell, Stephen VanderKlippe, and Murray Ritsema as our new elders, and Doug Kuyvenhoven and Matt Wilkins as the new deacons. After the charges to them and to the congregation, we were invited to pray over the new board. We pray God’s blessing and equipping on each leader as they take on this responsibility.
