This Sunday

"Why do you stand here looking into the sky?"

This Sunday is Ascension Sunday.

And on Ascension Sunday, we turn our attention to that odd and often over-looked moment between Easter and Pentecost where Jesus was "taken up into heaven".

Among the gospel writers, only Luke tells us of the ascension of Jesus. But Luke tells us twice! Once at the end of his gospel account (Luke 24:44-53) and again at the beginning of Acts (1:1-11).

When we say, in the Apostles' Creed, "he ascended to heaven", what do we mean exactly? And why was it so important to Luke that he made sure to tell us about it twice?

Come, join us as we hear about the good news of our Risen and Ascended Lord, Jesus Christ....

You are most welcome!
